Kitchen Countertops

Kitchen Countertops for the Way You Cook and Gather

Your countertop has to work with the cabinets, sink, cooktop, appliances, island, and the way your household uses the kitchen.

Mountain Empire Stoneworks helps you choose a surface, then fabricates and installs it for kitchen remodels and new builds.

Custom Countertops, Installed and Ready to Cook On

A kitchen countertop is not finished when the material is chosen. It still has to fit the cabinets, fixtures, appliances, walls, and route into the room.

MES keeps that surface work connected. We help you narrow the material, confirm the details, template the ready kitchen, fabricate the approved surface in-house, and install the finished pieces. That applies to perimeter counters, islands, and complete kitchen projects.

Countertops That Fit Your Kitchen, Not Just Your Budget

Budget matters, but it cannot tell you how a surface will handle heat, spills, scratches, or daily cleanup. It also cannot tell you whether you will enjoy natural variation or want a more consistent pattern.

MES helps you compare the differences without turning the decision into a materials lecture.

Natural stone

offers real variation. Granite, quartzite, marble, and soapstone differ in sealing, acid sensitivity, scratching, heat tolerance, and how they change with use.

Manufactured surfaces

offer different levels of pattern control, routine maintenance, repairability, and heat resistance. The exact product matters.

The right countertop fits how you cook, clean, entertain, and expect the surface to age.

Customize Every Detail

The material sets the direction. These choices determine how the countertop works in the room and what the project requires:

Island size and shape:

Create room for prep, seating, or gathering while accounting for support, slab size, access, and safe installation.

Sink and cooktop cutouts:

Keep the main work zones clean and usable by coordinating exact models, openings, and clearances.

Backsplashes:

Protect the wall and decide how far the countertop material or another finish should continue upward.

Edge profiles:

Choose the visual weight and finished feel the material can support.

Seam and vein layout:

Place pattern movement where it matters most, then plan seams around the kitchen and safe installation.

Each decision can change the look, material use, fabrication work, and quote. Settling them before the material is cut gives you a clearer scope.

emplate and fabricate.

The installation team places the finished pieces and completes the seams and surface work included in the written scope.

Common Questions About Kitchen Countertops

Do Cabinets Need to Be Installed Before Countertop Templating?
Yes. Cabinets generally need to be installed, level, secured, and complete as MES requires. The template records the conditions the countertop must fit.
The exact models need to be selected. MES may require specifications, templates, or the physical items before measuring or fabrication. Confirm what your project requires.
They may. Material size, cabinet layout, cutouts, pattern direction, access, support, and safe handling affect seam placement. MES reviews seams around the actual kitchen.
Most tile backsplashes go in after the countertops. If MES is quoting a countertop backsplash, include it from the start so its measurements, material, and installation sequence can be confirmed.
Contact MES before making the change. A new model, cabinet position, or layout can alter cutouts, clearances, seams, material use, cost, or timing.
